My Story
I was introduced to Scentsy when the company was just over a year old. I received an email with a catalog attachment and knew I had to attend the party to check it out! I was a candle ADDICT, so; I had to see what this was all about! I attended the party and was instantly hooked! I booked a party and couldn't sleep that night...just kept thinking what an awesome product this was! I purchased a warmer and bar for my mother in law at the party I attended, but; didn't get anything for myself. I talked about Scentsy quite a bit before my party...and; that's when I decided to sign up to sell it. That was all it took. I was a bit nervous because I had never sold anything in my life! Soooo not a salesperson. But; I had my party and saw how easy it really was. I signed up later that night. I got my kit and was so excited to sit down and smell all the testers! My daughter loves Scentsy almost as much as I do. (She's almost 13 now, but; she was only 3 when I started, so; it was funny to watch her facial expressions when she was smelling the different testers. She helps me label all of my product, and it never fails, she always find a Sugar Cookie or Blueberry Cheesecake bar in the box! That's one of the things that I love about Scentsy. You can do things together as a family, and; it's not so much like WORK!
I've been selling for a little over 10 years now, and I find myself just as passionate about Scentsy today as I was when I started. I signed up really just to feed my addiction! Once I got my first warmer and bars, I literally threw hundreds of dollars of wicked candles in the garbage. (Most of them had never even been burned) I have to admit, that was a really dumb idea. I still to this day do not have any wicked candles in my house, so; a power outage is a major catastrophe! (Really, that's all they are good for when you have Scentsy in the house!)
I was very motivated when I first started selling. I did parties every day that I could! And; I was very successful! I had no intention of building a business with Scentsy. I just wanted to make some extra money on the side, and BUY as much Scentsy as I could! But; then I got my first recruit, I had no idea what I was doing, still have a lot to learn after 10 years! But; it finally hit me that it's so much fun to watch my business grow, and to watch all of my Scentsy family grow their businesses as well! This is truly an amazing company, and an awesome business opportunity! I can honestly say that I have FUN when I go to work with Scentsy! I used to think that my day job was fun. But; since I started with Scentsy, I can't wait for the day when I can quit my day job of 23 years, and sell Scentsy full time! (It's a big goal, but; I'm determined to make it happen!)
